Under the Lordship of Jesus Christ,
the School of Theological and Ministerial Studies prepares men and
women as future leaders to serve Jesus Christ in ministries marked
by faith, integrity, scholarship, competence, compassion, and joy
equipping them with the spiritual excellence and well developed knowledge
in the Scripture. The primary responsibility of the School is to equip
students with conforming to Christ's image for Christian ministry
as ordained ministers, evangelists, Bible teachers, and missionaries
for Christian churches, especially for Reformed Churches.
Our specific mission is to support the church in its mandate to equip
the saints for ministry. We pursue this mission in three ways. First,
we seek to form men for ordained gospel ministry as pastors, teachers,
evangelists, missionaries, and other tasks specified by the church.
Second, we seek to train men and women to serve Christ in kingdom
ministries other than those that require ordination. Third, we seek
to serve as a center for Christian research and scholarship and to
communicate the fruits of our labors to the church and the world.
The school is to pursue the Motto of Reformation,
namely Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, and Sola Scriptura in offering instruction
in biblical, theological and ministerial disciplines to both men
and women as the heart of a program to help students to develop
intellectually and spiritually as future leaders.
We Believe
...in the trinity, meaning in the unity of the Godhead there are
three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity; God the Father,
God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
...that the Bible is the very inspired word of God as His infallible
and inerrant revelation so that it is alone the source of truth
for the faith, and life of Christians and of the churches.
...that the only mediator between God and humankind is Jesus Christ
our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin
Mary, and fully shared and fulfilled our humanity in a life of perfect
obedience. By His death in our place, He revealed the divine love
and upheld divine justice, removing our sins and reconciling us
to God. Having redeemed us from sin, the third day he rose bodily
from the grave, and overcame death and the powers of darkness. He
ascended into heaven where at God's right hand, he intercedes for
His people and will return to earth to judge all people according
to the deeds done in the body and to establish His glorious kingdom.
...in the deity of the Holy Spirit who through the proclamation
of the gospel, renews our hearts, persuades us to repent of our
sins and confess Jesus as Lord, indwells in our hearts, sanctifies
and glorifies us until completing our salvation.
...that there is no one who can save by oneself due to the total
depravity by both imputed sin from Adam's and actual sin committed.
This means that the salvation for human being is possible by God's
grace alone through the faith in Jesus Christ.
...that the church as the body of Christ is summoned by Christ
to offer acceptable worship to God and to serve Him by preaching
the gospel and making disciples of all nations, by tending the flock
through the ministry of the word and sacraments and through daily
pastoral care, and by relieving human distress and need.
...that God's redemptive purpose will be consummated by the return
of Christ to raise the dead, to judge all people according to the
deeds done in the body and to establish his glorious kingdom. The
wicked shall be separated from God's presence, but the righteous,
in glorious and resurrected bodies, shall live and reign with him
forever. |
